I’m drawn to the luminosity and transparency of colors
that happen in watercolor painting. I enjoy the new colors developing
and the moods created when glazing or layering several colors
together. The art elements I see dominating my painting are color
and shape. I try to emphasize simplicity. I like to paint things
that I know and places that I have lived. I like working with
organic forms in nature in both landscape and still life paintings.
Lately, I have been doing more with textures and getting into
mixed media. The result is my Mingus Mountain series, two of which
you see here.
